Klaran Point-of-Use Water Disinfection

This short animation show's how Klaran UVC LEDs disinfect water at the point-of-use at the faucet.

As water flows through a home's pipes and makes its way up to a water dispensing system (such as a faucet), it can carry a range of harmful pathogens such as E. coli, Legionella and others. When the water reaches the faucet, a tiny UVC LED within the faucet is activated.

The pathogens in the water flowing through the system are then exposed to UVC light emitting from the LED. As the pathogens absorb the UVC light, the light destroys them by changing their DNA structure and inhibiting their ability to reproduce. Now that the pathogens can no longer reproduce, they are unable to spread. This ensures that the water flowing from the faucet is safe to consume once it reaches the consumer's glass.

One of the top trends in water purification is the growing need for delivering disinfected water. Want to learn more about using UVC LEDs for disinfection in your water purification system or appliance? Start a discussion by contacting us today.
